About the Role:
• We're looking for a Senior Kubernetes Engineer to design and run the infrastructure behind our large-scale, data-intensive workloads on AWS. This is a hands-on role centred on Amazon EKS and cloud-native platform operations, where reliability, automation, and performance really matter.
• You'll partner closely with our platform and data engineering teams to build infrastructure that's resilient, secure, and cost-efficient, capable of handling thousands of concurrent workloads. If you know Kubernetes deeply and have supported distributed processing platforms like Apache Spark at scale, we'd love to talk.

What You'll Do:
• Design, deploy, and maintain highly available Amazon EKS clusters for large-scale data processing.
• Build and operate secure Kubernetes environments in private AWS VPCs, including air-gapped deployments, private container registries, and internal package repositories.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across Kubernetes, Karpenter, and distributed applications: scheduling, autoscaling, networking, and cluster performance.
• Optimize node provisioning with Karpenter, balancing performance, resiliency, and cost.
• Manage Spot and On-Demand capacity, including graceful interruption handling and workload recovery.
• Tune cluster efficiency using ResourceQuotas, LimitRanges, PriorityClasses, taints, tolerations, and affinity rules.
• Deploy high-performance persistent storage with Amazon EBS CSI and EFS CSI drivers.
• Build observability into the platform: centralized logging, monitoring, alerting, and dashboards that catch problems before they hit production.
• Design for resilience with checkpointing, retries, fault isolation, and automated recovery.

What We're Looking For:
• 8+ years in infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering.
• Deep, hands-on experience administering Kubernetes in large-scale production environments.
• Strong experience designing and operating Amazon EKS clusters.
• Experience with Kubernetes autoscaling (Karpenter or Cluster Autoscaler).
• Solid grasp of Kubernetes scheduling, networking, storage, security, and cluster lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting Apache Spark or similar distributed compute frameworks on Kubernetes.
• Hands-on AWS experience: EC2, EBS, EFS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and Auto Scaling.
• A track record of operating highly available, production-critical systems.
• Strong scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Sharp troubleshooting instincts across distributed systems and cloud-native infrastructure.

Nice to Have:
• Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, or CKS).
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or related AWS certifications.
• Experience with air-gapped or highly secure cloud environments.
• Open-source contributions to Kubernetes, Karpenter, Spark, or similar projects.
• FinOps and cloud cost optimization experience.
• Background supporting large-scale data engineering, analytics, or AI/ML platforms.
• Familiarity with GitOps tools like ArgoCD or Flux.

Location, Interview & Work Model:
• Residency: Candidates must be current residents of one of the following locations.
• Interview: Must be able to attend an in-person, face-to-face interview.
• Work model: Hybrid, 3 days per week on-site in the office.
