Internship Overview

VPSA is seeking an organized, energetic, and people-focused Event Coordinator Intern to assist with planning and executing company and community events.

This internship provides hands-on experience coordinating events from the planning stage through completion. Events may include hiring and recruiting events, community outreach events, employee appreciation events, company events, networking events, and other VPSA initiatives.

This is a college-credit internship. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a college or university and must be able to receive academic credit for the internship through their school.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating VPSA events
  • Support recruiting and hiring events designed to attract prospective security officers
  • Assist with employee engagement, appreciation, and company events
  • Help coordinate community outreach initiatives and networking events
  • Assist with event schedules, timelines, checklists, and logistics
  • Coordinate event materials, supplies, signage, name tags, and other event needs
  • Assist with invitations, RSVPs, attendance tracking, and event communications
  • Help communicate with vendors, venues, community partners, employees, and event participants
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown
  • Attend events and provide on-site coordination and support
  • Capture event information, photos, and content for company communications and social media
  • Help evaluate events afterward and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain organized event records and planning documents
  • Assist HR, Recruiting, Operations, and Leadership with event-related projects

Ideal Candidate

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Must be eligible to receive college credit for the internship
  • Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or related major preferred
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable interacting with different types of people and professional groups
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to remain organized during events
  • Professional, dependable, and proactive
  • Comfortable working some evenings or weekends when events require it

Internship Requirement: This position is unpaid and offered for college credit only. Applicants must confirm that their college or university will approve the internship for academic credit and provide any required documentation.
