Title: Inventory Technician
Duration: 9 Months (with possibility of extension)
Location: Painted Post/Corning, NY (100% On-Site)

Work Schedule: M-F, typically 8am - 5pm

Local candidates preferred.

Interview Process: Initial screening with manager, then possible onsite interview if candidate is local. If not local, a 2nd teams interview.

Description:

Required Education:

  • Prefer associate degree or BS. A BA with technical field experience is acceptable. Minimum of HS Diploma.

Required Experience:  3-5 years in a laboratory preferred. 2 main skills are required: Ability to organize and provide support to engineers who use the 5 labs.

Summary:

Our Client is looking for highly motivated individuals to be the Measurement Systems Engineer (MSE) Inventory Technician. This dept houses 5 labs in Sullivan Park. This role requires individuals who are organized, self-motivated, and can work with a wide variety of people.

 

Scope of Position:

Organize, inventory, clean, and manage the five labs in the MSE department. Work with the MSE team to assemble an extensive inventory of critical parts and assemblies, and enter that information into an inventory management software solution. Lead the department to develop and deploy novel labeling, scanning, and AI enabled technologies to run the labs effectively and efficiently. Become the go-to member of the MSE team that keeps the rest of the team responsible for maintaining a world class laboratory environment.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Sorting, organizing, inventorying, and managing lab equipment.
  • Entering lab equipment data into an inventory management system.
  • Learning, using, and training on an inventory management system.
  • Looking up and documenting equipment specifications.
  • Organizing and managing lab space in a MSE department.
  • Inspecting and documenting lab spaces for safety and generic issues.
  • Working with the department to keep the lab spaces clean.
  • Researching, ordering, and setting up laboratory equipment.
  • Developing new methods involving AI to find equipment that enables building and prototyping cutting edge equipment.

Travel Requirements: 

  • None, all work located in Corning, NY.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Organization and documentation.
  • Prior experience in a laboratory setting
  • Online research of lab parts and equipment.
  • Able to process and implement safe lab protocols and equipment.
  • The ability to learn Client's systems and use them appropriately.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (MS Office programs)

Desired Experience/Skills: 

  • Layout or CAD skills (AutoCAD, Solidworks, Visio)
