Production Supervisor - Air-Cooled Chiller Assembly
About This Role
Compensation: $45-46 / HR
This role is responsible for leading daily operations across air-cooled chiller assembly lines within the value stream. The Production Supervisor owns safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance on shift, driving execution through frontline leadership, standard work, and disciplined problem-solving. The supervisor develops team capability, enforces standards, and ensures production commitments are met in a high-mix, variable manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership

• Own a zero-incident culture; ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with EHS standards.
• Conduct daily 5S and safety walks, identify hazards, and drive immediate countermeasures.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Reinforce safe behaviors through coaching and accountability.

Production & Operations

• Lead multiple air-cooled assembly lines to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
• Manage labor allocation to meet takt time and adapt to product variability.
• Escalate and remove constraints impacting throughput in real time.
• Ensure effective shift handoffs and clear communication of priorities.
• Drive key metrics including safety, quality (FPY, defects), delivery (attainment), and cost (labor efficiency).
• Lead daily tier meetings and ensure issues are tracked, prioritized, and closed.
• Maintain accurate production reporting and visual management.

Quality & Problem Solving

• Enforce adherence to standard work and quality processes.
• Drive containment and resolution of defects while partnering with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
• Lead root cause problem solving using tools such as 5 Whys and Fishbone analysis to eliminate recurring issues.
• Support layered process audits and drive accountability for findings.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and execute opportunities to improve labor efficiency, throughput, and flow.
• Support and lead kaizen events and daily continuous improvement activities.
• Sustain and improve 5S standards across all areas of responsibility.
• Partner with Industrial Engineering to optimize line balance and standard work.

People Leadership

• Directly lead and develop a team of approximately 25 hourly operators and team leads.
• Set clear expectations, provide daily feedback, and conduct performance management.
• Build team capability through training, cross-training, and skills development.
• Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and ownership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure material availability and escalate shortages impacting production.
• Support new product introductions, equipment ramp-ups, and process changes.

Shift Structure & Schedule
This hiring initiative includes seven Production Supervisor openings supporting multiple manufacturing shifts:

• 1st Shift: 2 openings
• 2nd Shift: 2 openings
• 3rd Shift: 3 openings

Shift Hours

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (plus overtime as required)
• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM (plus overtime as required)
• 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

Overtime Expectations
This is a production leadership role supporting a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates should be flexible to support business needs, including:

• Up to 4 hours of overtime Monday through Friday when required
• Mandatory weekend support based on production demands

Team Size
Each Production Supervisor will oversee approximately 25 hourly employees, including operators and team leads.
