The Role:

We're looking for a motivated, experienced and detail-oriented Garment Technologist to join the Frasers Group team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong individual to take ownership of the fit, quality and performance of products across a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment. Working closely with Design, Buying and suppliers, you'll play a key role in driving product development from initial concept through to production, ensuring garments meet the highest standards of fit, quality, construction and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend and lead weekly fit sessions across both men’s and womenswear, including accessories, taking ownership of fit and technical decisions for assigned brands and categories.
  • Independently manage the fit and technical development of your own brands / categories, working closely with the Design and Buying teams to ensure excellent, consistent and commercially appropriate fit.
  • Record and communicate clear, accurate and concise fit comments to factories and suppliers, ensuring all amendments are correctly understood and reflected in subsequent samples and production.
  • Analyse test reports, identify potential quality or performance issues and work with suppliers to resolve technical concerns effectively.
  • Oversee care label approvals for assigned brands / product categories, ensuring all information is accurate and compliant with testing requirements.
  • Maintain and review grading and sizing rules for each garment type and individual brand, ensuring consistency of fit and measurement standards.
  • Maintain and develop brand-specific block libraries, ensuring blocks are accurate and updated each season.
  • Monitor and report on quality, faults and production performance each season, analysing individual factory performance against agreed targets and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Proactively identify recurring technical, quality and production issues and work with suppliers and internal teams to implement effective corrective actions.
  • Support the development and introduction of new technical innovations, including 3D fitting, new product development technologies and the testing of innovative performance fabrics.
  • Manage multiple product categories and critical paths effectively, ensuring technical approvals and production deadlines are achieved.
  • Build strong working relationships with Design, Buying, QC, Production and suppliers, acting as a key technical point of contact throughout the product development process.

  • Previous experience working as a Garment Technologist within a retail, fashion or similar environment.
  • Strong garment fitting and technical development experience across relevant product categories.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, measurements, grading, specifications and technical standards.
  • Experience analysing garment testing reports and resolving technical and quality issues.
  • A high level of self-motivation, commitment and dedication.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while confidently taking ownership of technical decisions.

An opportunity like this at Frasers is for the fearless. The potential is massive, the experience unrivalled. To be able to make the most of it you need to live and breathe our principles:

  • Think without limits and take the team with you
  • Own it and back yourself
  • Be relevant to people, partners and the planet
