We're supporting a high-profile defence programme and are looking for an experienced User Researcher to join a multidisciplinary team delivering critical digital services within a secure government environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level User Researcher with a strong track record of planning and delivering research that influences service design and product decisions on complex, user-centred projects.

What You'll Be Doing

Planning and conducting user research across the service life cycle

Selecting and applying appropriate qualitative and quantitative research methods

Engaging with a diverse range of users and stakeholders to uncover insights and pain points

Synthesising findings into clear, actionable recommendations

Working closely with Service Designers, Interaction Designers, Content Designers and Product Managers

Supporting evidence-based decision making across multidisciplinary teams

Communicating research findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

Essential Skills & Experience

• Active SC Clearance (must be current and transferable)
• Proven experience delivering user research within government, defence or highly regulated environments
• Strong understanding of user-centred design principles
• Experience planning, conducting and analysing user research activities
• Ability to translate research insights into meaningful recommendations
• Experience working within agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Desirable

• Previous experience on Defence or National Security programmes
• Familiarity with GDS service standards and assessments
• Experience researching services involving sensitive or secure information

Contract Details

Location: Hybrid working with regular attendance in Corsham

Rate: £430 per day

Contract: 6 months

IR35: Inside IR35

Clearance: Active SC Clearance required prior to starting
