Job Description

Senior Communications Engineer / Project Engineer
12+ Month Contract | Hybrid (50%) | Must Live Between Houston and New Orleans
Frequent Travel to Lake Charles, LA Required

iSphere is looking for a Senior Communications Engineer who''s the person everyone calls when the project gets complicated.

This isn''t a maintenance role where you''re keeping yesterday''s systems alive. You''ll be helping shape what''s next at one of the largest LNG facilities in the country by leading communications projects from concept through startup. If you''ve ever looked at a telecom project and thought, "I''d do that differently," here''s your chance.

One thing to know up front... this role requires regular travel to Lake Charles. You can live anywhere between Houston and New Orleans, but you''ll be spending plenty of time onsite with Operations, Engineering, contractors, and vendors making sure projects get delivered the right way.

What they''re really looking for:

• 7+ years designing and delivering industrial communications or telecom systems
• Strong project engineering and project management experience
• Experience with several of the following: private cellular, LoRaWAN, SCADA, voice radio, CCTV, satellite communications, access control, or enterprise data networks
• Knowledge of industrial networking, VLANs, DMZs, segmentation, and OT cybersecurity
• Experience managing contractors, vendors, budgets, schedules, and project execution
• Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field

PMP certification is a plus. Real-world project leadership carries just as much weight.

You''ll be working with Operations to understand what they need, then turning those ideas into systems that actually work in the field. You''ll lead upgrades, coordinate vendors, oversee installations, support commissioning, manage documentation, and make sure everything from cybersecurity to the Digital Twin stays current.

This isn''t one of those jobs where you spend all day buried in Visio diagrams pretending projects manage themselves. You''ll be out in the field, solving problems, answering questions, making decisions, and occasionally explaining to a contractor why "almost done" isn''t actually done.

The right person enjoys building things that last, isn''t afraid to challenge a bad idea, and knows the best projects happen when good engineering meets good communication. If that sounds like you, we''d love to introduce you to the team.
