Job Title: API Systems Engineer

Role Overview
We are looking for an API Systems Engineer to design, develop, integrate, maintain, and troubleshoot APIs and system integrations. The role will work closely with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams to ensure reliable and scalable API services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain REST/SOAP APIs and system integrations.
• Integrate internal and third-party applications using APIs.
• Monitor API performance, availability, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot API, integration, authentication, and connectivity issues.
• Work with JSON, XML, HTTP/HTTPS, OAuth, JWT, and other API technologies.
• Implement API security, access controls, and authentication mechanisms.
• Support API gateways and related integration platforms.
• Analyze logs and system metrics to identify and resolve issues.
• Maintain API documentation and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams.
• Support deployments, upgrades, incident resolution, and production changes.
• Follow best practices for scalability, security, monitoring, and system availability.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, and XML.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or similar.
• Knowledge of API authentication and authorization, including OAuth2 and JWT.
• Basic scripting/programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar.
• Experience with SQL and databases.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and basic networking concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting production systems and integrations.
• Understanding of Git and CI/CD processes.
