We are looking for an experienced RF Test Engineer to join our growing engineering team.

This is a hands-on RF test development role, working closely with Engineering and Production teams to develop, implement and maintain automated test solutions for a range of products, from initial concept through to volume production.

You will play an important role in developing and improving test capability, resolving technical issues and ensuring test solutions meet defined technical, quality, cost and delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated RF test solutions using LabVIEW and TestStand.
  • Utilise RF test equipment and measurement techniques to develop, verify and maintain test capability.
  • Investigate, diagnose and resolve technical issues relating to test systems and equipment.
  • Support the complete test solution lifecycle, including requirements review, system design, instrumentation selection, development, implementation and validation.
  • Analyse test data and prepare technical reports and presentations for internal teams and customers.
  • Ensure test solutions are properly documented, including specifications, operating instructions and supporting technical information.
  • Plan and manage own workload to meet project deadlines, reporting progress, risks and issues to relevant project teams and team leaders.
  • Support the implementation of engineering changes, training and ongoing test system improvements.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production and other internal teams to ensure effective test solutions are delivered.

Essential:

  • A relevant Engineering degree or equivalent combination of qualifications and practical experience, together with relevant RF experience.
  • Strong practical measurement and diagnostic skills using electronic and RF test equipment at microwave frequencies and above.
  • Practical experience developing automated test solutions using LabVIEW and TestStand.
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities, work independently when required and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external customers.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a volume electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience with serial communication protocols such as I2C and SPI.

If you have strong RF engineering experience and enjoy developing practical test solutions in a technically challenging manufacturing environment, we would like to hear from you.

  • Salary benchmarked to attract the strongest candidates.
  • 37.5 hour working week
  • 25 days’ holiday plus public holidays, with the option to buy up to 5 additional days
  • Contributory pension scheme with up to 8% company contribution
