Senior .NET Developer – Strong SQL Server Expertise with Security Clearance

Location: Arlington or Merrifield/Fairfax, VA
Clearance: Active Secret Required Position Overview Seeking an experienced .NET Developer with advanced SQL Server expertise to support a federal government client. This position requires a strong background in C#/.NET application development combined with extensive hands-on SQL Server experience. The ideal candidate must be comfortable independently handling database development, optimization, and troubleshooting, as the team does not have a dedicated DBA.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain applications using C#, .NET, and ASP.NET. Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views. Troubleshoot SQL Server performance issues, including indexing, execution plans, and query optimization. Design and maintain relational databases, schemas, and data structures. Handle database-related development and troubleshooting responsibilities independently. Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of approximately 5–7 developers.

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure application and database performance, reliability, and functionality. Required Qualifications Strong professional experience with C# and .NET development. Advanced hands-on SQL Server and T-SQL experience is essential. Extensive experience developing stored procedures, complex queries, and database functions. Strong understanding of relational database design, indexing, and performance tuning. Experience troubleshooting SQL Server issues without dedicated DBA support. Experience leading or mentoring software development teams.

Active Secret security clearance required.

Important: This is not a traditional .NET development position with occasional SQL responsibilities. Candidates must demonstrate significant SQL Server expertise alongside their .NET development experience.
