Senior QA Automation Engineer

Location: Remote U.S.

Role Overview

This role involves performing complex testing activities across integration, regression, and functional testing for moderately to highly integrated systems. The position ensures compliance with system requirements by following established testing standards, leveraging Azure DevOps (ADO) Test Plans, Agile/SAFe practices, AI-driven test case generation, and Gherkin-based BDD techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex test plans in ADO aligned to standards.
  • Analyze requirements and design comprehensive test coverage.
  • Create manual and automated test cases, using Gherkin syntax for automation.
  • Utilize AI tools to generate and enhance test cases.
  • Execute SIT, regression, and functional testing using both manual and automated test cases.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain automation scripts, including UFT, XPath, and parameterization.
  • Document and manage defects, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies and estimation activities.
  • Communicate risks, blockers, and progress to stakeholders.
  • Produce audit-ready test documentation and artifacts.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with ADO Test Plans and test case management.
  • Strong Agile/SAFe testing experience.
  • Hands-on test automation and defect management experience.
  • Proficiency with Gherkin (Given/When/Then) syntax.
  • Experience using AI tools or agents for test case creation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Financial services or enterprise system experience.
  • CI/CD pipeline and DevOps testing experience.
