Senior Full Stack Developer | Python + React + AI

Senior Full Stack Developer for an established organization building high-traffic digital products used by a broad national audience.

First things first: we need strong professional experience with both Python and React. (For Python, we mean writing production Python code for applications and backend services, not primarily scripting or automation.)

This is an unusually long-tenured, collaborative team, so we’re looking for someone who values that kind of stability, likes owning what they build, thinks beyond the ticket in front of them, enjoys solving problems, and is curious about how AI can make good developers even better.

The engineering team has a lot of autonomy and relatively little bureaucracy. Developers work directly with product owners and other stakeholders and typically see what they build through from idea to development, testing, launch, and ongoing improvement.

The technology environment includes Python, React, JavaScript, cloud technologies, databases, modern data tools, and AI-assisted development.

What You’ll Do

• Build and improve full stack applications using Python on the backend and React on the front end
• Design, write, test, and maintain production Python application code
• Build and evolve user-facing features in React
• Work across JavaScript, databases, APIs, and cloud technologies
• Use AI-assisted development tools and automation as part of your everyday workflow
• Collaborate directly with product managers, designers, analysts, testers, and other developers
• Help make architecture and technical design decisions
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable code
• Review code and help improve overall engineering quality
• Mentor other developers while remaining hands-on
• Own meaningful work from development through launch and continued improvement

What We’re Looking For

You should have:

• 3+ years of professional full stack software development experience
• Strong professional experience writing production Python code for applications and backend services
• Strong React experience building production web applications
• Modern JavaScript / ES6
• HTML and modern CSS
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Git/version control
• Comfort working in Linux, macOS, or another Unix-based environment
• Experience incorporating AI-assisted development tools or automation into your development workflow
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

You do not need every technology on the list, but Python and React are both important for this role.

If your Python experience has primarily been scripting, automation, or data analysis rather than building production applications, this particular position probably isn’t the right match.

Nice to Have

• AWS or another cloud platform
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
• Data ingestion or transformation experience
• Cloud-based data and analytics platforms
• Experience building AI features into products

The AI Part

You do not need to be an AI/ML engineer.

We are looking for developers who are actively using AI-assisted tools in their development workflow and are interested in finding better ways to use them.

Curiosity matters here, along with the judgment to know when a tool is genuinely useful.
