Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Infrastructure, VMware, Windows, Server, Networking, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, FortiGate, SAN, PureStorage, Firewalls, 365, ITIL, Security, Resolution Management) Contract 6 Months Inside IR35 - Remote

Charles Simon Associates are currently recruiting for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on an initial 6 month contract basis with an ASAP start. The role will also be remote.

This role is Inside IR35.

Location: Remote

Day Rate: Up to £400 per Day D.O.E

Skills/Requirements for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer:

• Extensive previous experience in a similar role
• Strong Microsoft Stack skills around 365, Servers and migrations
• SAN Storage experience, mainly around Capacity Management
• Experience of working with 3rd parties and managing 3rd parties
• Knowledge around Security and Vulnerability Management and their tools
• Networking and Firewall experience within ideally Cisco, FortiNet/FortiGate and Palo Alto
• Extensive VMware experience
• Stakeholder communication and excellent documentation skills

Start date is ASAP for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for:

• Providing senior level, hands-on support and technical ownership for data centre, network, security, hosting, storage, end-user platform and telecommunications services across the business.
• Diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure incidents and recurring problems. In addition to this, coordinating with both internal teams, managed service providers and vendors where required.
• Administering, troubleshooting and improving Fortinet network and security technologies, including firewalls, switching, routing, VPNs, segmentation, policies and secure remote connectivity.
• Supporting and maintaining physical and virtual server environments, including Windows Server and VMware.
• Managing and optimising SAN and data centre infrastructure
• Supporting Microsoft 365 services and its integration with the wider estate, including identity, access, security and operational administration in collaboration with relevant specialists.
• Working with the 3rd party vendors to ensure technical issues and projects get brought in on time and to a high standard.
• Leading or contributing to infrastructure projects, migrations, upgrades, remediation activity and supplier transitions.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset and configuration information, network diagrams, support procedures, recovery plans and known-error records.
