With three opportunities available, you'll play a key role in delivering analytical insights, pricing solutions and predictive modelling that support our Motor Insurance business and contribute to improved customer outcomes and product profitability.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with large and complex data sets, cutting-edge modelling capabilities and experienced analytics professionals while developing your technical and commercial expertise in a leading insurance organisation.

What you'll be doing

As a Data Analyst, you'll work closely with senior analytics and pricing specialists to deliver data-driven solutions that support strategic business objectives.

You'll:

  • Analyse and interpret large and complex datasets to provide actionable business insights.
  • Extract, manipulate and prepare insurance data for analytical and modelling purposes.
  • Develop, enhance and maintain statistical and machine learning models using Suncorp's advanced modelling infrastructure.
  • Support the design, recommendation and implementation of pricing solutions that improve business performance.
  • Apply customer, market and risk insights to support pricing and product decisions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Finance, Claims, Actuarial and Analytics teams to solve business challenges.
  • Translate technical findings into clear and practical recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across analytics, modelling and pricing processes.

What you'll bring

We're looking for curious and commercially minded analysts who enjoy solving complex problems and turning data into meaningful business outcomes.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Studies, Engineering, Econometrics, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Experience working on analytical, modelling or data-focused projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience using analytical tools such as SQL, Python, R or SAS.
  • The ability to communicate technical concepts and insights to a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-based environment.
  • Experience within insurance, pricing analytics or financial services will be highly regarded.
  • Exposure to predictive modelling, machine learning or Earnix will be advantageous.

Why join us?

At Suncorp, you'll be part of a collaborative and high-performing analytics community where your work directly influences strategic business decisions.

We offer:

  • Three 12-month fixed-term opportunities with potential for extension.
  • Flexible hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
  • Sydney-based role within a supportive and experienced team.
  • The opportunity to work on meaningful analytical and modelling projects that deliver real business impact.
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities.
  • A collaborative culture that encourages innovation, curiosity and continuous improvement.
