Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager to manage medium to standard-complexity IT and/or capital projects from initiation through successful completion. The ideal candidate will have strong project delivery and governance experience, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining schedules, risks, issues, dependencies, financial forecasts, and change controls.
This role requires a highly organized and proactive professional who can work effectively with project stakeholders, delivery teams, vendors, and leadership while ensuring projects are delivered according to established methodologies, governance standards, and timelines.
Required Qualifications
- 5 10 years of hands-on experience managing IT and/or capital projects in a structured and governed environment.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong experience with Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
- Experience working in Hybrid/Agile environments.
- Experience managing project lifecycles, system upgrades, implementations, and modernization initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of RAID management including risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
- Demonstrated experience with project scheduling, baselines, milestones, and dependencies.
- Strong understanding of change control and project governance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide clear, accurate, and timely project status reporting.
- Strong stakeholder management and escalation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within the utility, energy, electric, or power industry.
- Professional Services (PS) delivery experience.
- Experience managing vendor-delivered implementations.
- Experience with enterprise system implementations, upgrades, and modernization projects.
- Experience working in highly regulated or structured enterprise environments.
Certifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification strongly preferred.
- CAPM or another globally recognized project management certification may be considered.
- Equivalent project management experience and/or certification may be accepted depending on experience level.
Technical Skills
- PPM and project scheduling tools.
- RAID and project artifact management.
- Project status and portfolio reporting.
- Document and repository management systems.
- Change-control and forecast management tools.
- Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and related project management tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects end-to-end, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, baselines, milestones, dependencies, and delivery plans.
- Maintain accurate RAID logs and actively manage project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
- Prepare project governance materials, including status reports, gate submissions, change requests, forecasts, and executive updates.
- Coordinate project activities across business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and delivery partners.
- Facilitate project-level governance meetings and ensure decisions, actions, and dependencies are properly tracked.
- Monitor project progress against scope, schedule, budget, milestones, and established delivery objectives.
- Manage project changes through established change-control processes.
- Identify potential project risks and issues early and proactively escalate them to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Provide accurate and timely project information for portfolio-level reporting.
- Ensure project documentation and artifacts are maintained according to organizational standards.
- Coordinate with vendors and professional services teams to ensure contractual and project deliverables are completed as expected.
- Support system upgrades, enterprise implementations, modernization initiatives, and other assigned projects.
- Work collaboratively with project owners, delivery teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to resolve project-level challenges.
- Drive projects toward successful completion while maintaining strong governance, accountability, and delivery discipline.
