Working with a highly skilled engineering team, you'll contribute to the design and development of secure network devices used across defence, national security, energy and the public sector. With technology developed and manufactured in-house, you'll have the opportunity to work on complex engineering challenges where software quality and security really matter.

This is an environment that values collaboration, continuous learning and modern software development practices, with opportunities to make a real impact in a growing business.

What you'll be doing
  • Designing, developing and improving software for advanced network security products.

  • Writing clean, reliable and testable code using modern software development practices.

  • Collaborating with other engineers through pair programming, group programming and test-driven development (TDD).

  • Contributing to the development of new products and enhancing existing solutions.

  • Working across different technologies and technical challenges, with opportunities to get involved in areas such as embedded systems, Linux platforms, networking and cloud applications.

  • Sharing ideas and contributing to continuous improvement across the engineering team.

What we're looking for
  • Around 2–5 years' experience in software engineering, with opportunities available at Consultant and Senior Consultant level.

  • Experience with Modern C++ and the Standard Template Library (STL), or Rust.

  • Experience with Python.

  • Exposure to bare-metal development, Linux or real-time operating systems.

  • Cloud development experience would be beneficial.

  • Knowledge or experience of network security would be advantageous.

  • A commitment to writing high-quality software, with an interest in testing, clean code and continuous improvement.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to engineering.

You'll also need to be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.

What's in it for you?
  • Salary of up to £70,000–£75,000, depending on experience.

  • Hybrid working, based in Cambridge.

  • The opportunity to work on cutting-edge cyber security technology with real-world applications.

  • A strong learning culture, with ongoing training and clear career progression pathways.

  • Competitive pension and bonus scheme.

  • Flexible healthcare plans for you and your family.

  • Competitive annual leave allowances.

  • Team events and a range of employee-led clubs and activities.

If you're a software engineer looking to take on challenging technical problems, develop your skills and contribute to technology that protects critical networks, we'd love to hear from you.
