Business Systems Analyst / Business Analyst Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join a collaborative Data Management Program team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL development, data analysis, data warehouse requirements, source-to-target mapping, and business systems analysis.

The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to define requirements, develop technical specifications, support data integration initiatives, and ensure data quality and accuracy. Experience working in an Agile environment and excellent communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to design and implement efficient data integration processes.

Create and maintain Source-to-Target (S2T) mapping documentation.

Write and analyze complex SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.

Gather business requirements and develop user stories.

Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.

Perform root cause analysis and analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and discrepancies.

Develop and execute test plans to ensure system functionality, performance, and reliability.

Perform data reconciliation and validate testing results.

Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve defects.

Conduct gap analysis and cost-benefit analysis as needed.

Gather and refine requirements for reports and dashboards.

Create and maintain system documentation, design specifications, and user guides.

Support data quality, data governance, and data security initiatives.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Provide training and guidance to end users on business and systems analysis methodologies.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience serving as a liaison between business and technical teams for data integration initiatives, including Source-to-Target (S2T) mapping.

Minimum 5 years of experience developing complex SQL queries.

Minimum 5 years of experience gathering requirements and developing user stories.

Minimum 5 years of experience translating business requirements into technical specifications.

Minimum 5 years of experience performing root cause analysis and analyzing complex datasets.

Minimum 2 years of experience with testing, data reconciliation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

Experience with data quality tools and frameworks.

Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) platforms and dashboard requirements.

Knowledge of data governance, data security, and privacy policies.

Strong understanding of data modeling concepts.

Experience conducting gap analysis and cost-benefit analysis.

Experience preparing technical documentation and conducting user training.

Experience mentoring team members and business users.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management practices.
