VoIP / SIP Automation Tester - Ipswich, UK

Role: VoIP Automation Tester
Type: Contract (6 Months with possible extension)
Location: Ipswich, UK
Working Model: Hybrid (3 days per week in office)
Payrate: 300 to 369 per day on Inside IR35 via Umbrella

We are looking for a highly skilled VoIP tester to ensure the reliability and quality of our real-time voice and video communication systems. If you can build automation frameworks from scratch and troubleshoot SIP call flows at the packet level, we want to hear from you.

The Role:

• Build and maintain automated test frameworks for signaling and media handling.
• Simulate concurrent call load and network degradation.
• Diagnose audio drops and call failures using packet captures.
• Integrate test scripts into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab).

Must-Have Skills:

• Protocols: Deep knowledge of SIP, RTP, and SDP.
• Automation: Python and Robot Framework.
• Diagnostics: Wireshark, tcpdump, PCAP analysis.
• VoIP Tools: SIPp, Spectra, WinSIP, or StarTrinity.
• OS/Systems: Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and basic server admin.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Perimeta SBC, Metaswitch Rhino, or Dialogic Media Server.
• SSCA Certification or knowledge of IN protocols (INAP/MAP).
