We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director – IT Infrastructure & Systems Administration to lead the design, operations, reliability, and continuous improvement of enterprise IT infrastructure within a technology-intensive semiconductor industry environment.

The role requires deep expertise across Linux administration, enterprise storage, networking, infrastructure architecture, and systems operations, combined with strong leadership and stakeholder-management capabilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building resilient infrastructure platforms that support critical engineering, manufacturing, business, and corporate applications while maintaining high standards of availability, security, performance, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, architecture, implementation, and operations of enterprise IT infrastructure and systems administration.
• Provide technical leadership for large-scale Linux environments, including administration, performance, security, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Oversee enterprise storage infrastructure, capacity planning, performance, availability, backup, replication, and data-protection strategies.
• Design and maintain resilient networking infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls, connectivity, and network security.
• Develop infrastructure architectures capable of supporting high-performance and business-critical semiconductor industry workloads.
• Establish standards for system availability, performance, security, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and operational resilience.
• Lead infrastructure capacity planning, technology refresh, lifecycle management, and data-centre initiatives.
• Drive automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration, monitoring, patching, and operational processes.
• Oversee incident, problem, and change management for critical infrastructure services.
• Establish and monitor infrastructure SLAs, KPIs, operational dashboards, and service-quality metrics.
• Lead root-cause analysis for major infrastructure incidents and ensure sustainable corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and recovery strategies.
• Manage infrastructure vendors, technology partners, contracts, service levels, and technical escalations.
• Partner with Information Security teams to implement appropriate hardening, access controls, vulnerability management, and security standards.
• Collaborate with application, engineering, semiconductor, facilities, and business teams to understand infrastructure requirements and dependencies.
• Lead and mentor infrastructure, Linux, storage, networking, and systems administration teams.
• Evaluate emerging infrastructure technologies and identify opportunities for modernisation, optimisation, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure infrastructure documentation, architecture standards, operating procedures, and technical runbooks are maintained.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 15+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, enterprise technology operations, or a related field, with significant leadership experience.
• Deep hands-on and leadership expertise in Linux administration, enterprise systems, and large-scale infrastructure environments.
• Strong experience with enterprise storage technologies, storage architecture, backup, replication, capacity, and performance management.
• Extensive knowledge of networking, including routing, switching, LAN/WAN, network architecture, connectivity, and infrastructure security.
• Proven experience supporting infrastructure within the semiconductor industry, electronics, manufacturing, engineering, or another technology-intensive environment.
• Strong understanding of data-centre infrastructure, high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience.
• Experience managing large infrastructure teams and multiple technology workstreams.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure security, vulnerability management, patching, access controls, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, monitoring, configuration management, and operational tooling.
• Strong vendor, partner, budget, and technology lifecycle-management experience.
• Excellent incident management, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams, senior leadership, and business stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset combined with the ability to remain technically engaged in complex infrastructure decisions.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
