Job Title: Data Engineer, ETL & Reporting
Job Location: Jersey City NJ / Charlotte, NC (3 Days onsite, 2 Days remote) Hybrid role.
Job Type: 12+ Months contract
Overview
This role sits within Enterprise Risk & Finance Technology, supporting compliance and surveillance data platforms. The focus is data engineering and ETL development, not hands-on backend application development. The ideal candidate understands how data contracts are structured across systems and can help automate data quality controls.
 
Core Requirements
  • Strong ETL development background: SSIS, SSRS, Power BI, and/or Tableau
  • SQL Server, stored procedures, views, functions, performance tuning
  • Autosys scheduling and job orchestration experience
  • Comfortable working across multiple programming/scripting languages, not Java-specific depth
  • General awareness of Java is enough, deep Java development experience is not required
  • Experience understanding and mapping how data contracts are set up across enterprise systems
  • Interest or experience in automating data quality controls
Nice to Have
  • Prior banking or financial services experience
  • Oracle or other RDBMS exposure alongside SQL Server
  • Experience with production support, incident management, and change management processes
What This Role Is NOT
  • Not a senior/lead-level hands-on Java developer role
  • Not a data science role, no ML/statistical modeling expected
  • Not primarily backend application development
