Application Technical Specialist (Unix Administrator / DCR or COBOL Programmer)

Job Description

We are looking for an Application Technical Specialist (Unix Administrator / DCR or COBOL Programmer) to support and maintain mission-critical processing systems. This position will be a contract role and will support legacy DCR applications running on SCO Unix environments.

Required:

• 5+ years of overall application development experience

• 3+ years of experience with DCR programming language

• 3+ years of SCO UnixWare administration experience

• 3+ years of Unix Shell Scripting experience

• 3+ years of production support experience for legacy business applications

• Experience supporting legacy DCR applications on SCO Unix

• Experience with flat-file processing and batch job management

• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging capabilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders

Preferred:

• 2+ years of experience with legacy procedural programming languages such as COBOL, RPG, or C

• Experience debugging and reverse engineering legacy applications with limited documentation

• Experience with flat-file processing environments

• Advanced skills in technologies such as SharePoint, SAP, Curam, ServiceNow, HL7, or PEGA

• Experience supporting large-scale government or enterprise-level business applications
