Systems Engineer (Senior) with Security Clearance

Hybrid in Ashburn, VA or Gaithersburg, MD Our client seeks a Systems Engineer who understands how complex cloud-hosted software systems fit together to deliver mission-critical solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-based infrastructure and applications, with a focus on security, scalability, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-based systems and architectures
• Ensure systems meet security, scalability, and performance requirements
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
• Implement automation and CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and virtualization
• Experience with scripting and programming languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
• Knowledge of ITIL and Agile methodologies
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Certifications (CISSP, CCNP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.)
• Experience with DevOps tools and practices
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

Clearance: Must have an active Secret clearance.
