Job Description

A leading private credit platform is looking to add an Associate to its New York investment team. This is an excellent opportunity for an investment banking, leveraged finance, direct lending, or private credit professional seeking broad exposure to the full investment lifecycle within a highly active middle market lending platform.

The firm manages billions in capital and has built a longstanding reputation as a trusted financing partner to private equity sponsors across North America. The team invests across first lien senior secured loans, unitranche financings, junior capital, and equity co-investments, supporting leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, and recapitalizations in the middle market.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and underwrite new private credit investment opportunities
  • Support sponsor-backed leveraged buyout transactions from initial screening through closing
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including downside, leverage, liquidity, and cash flow analyses
  • Conduct industry, market, customer, and competitive diligence
  • Prepare investment memoranda and presentations for internal investment committees
  • Participate in all aspects of transaction execution alongside senior investment professionals
  • Monitor portfolio company performance, covenant compliance, amendments, refinancings, and add-on investment opportunities
  • Track market, sector, and credit developments that may impact portfolio investments

Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, direct lending, private credit, structured credit, or a related investing role
  • Strong financial modeling and credit underwriting capabilities
  • Experience analyzing leveraged transactions and corporate credit risk
  • Exposure to sponsor-backed transactions and LBO financings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced investment environment
