Software Business Analyst

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst (BA) to lead the analysis, documentation, and communication of business and technical requirements supporting IT, business, and product strategy initiatives. This role will partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and Agile development teams to translate business needs into detailed technical requirements while leveraging automation, workflow, and AI-powered tools.

The Business Analyst will play a critical role in requirements gathering, workflow design, project planning, resource coordination, and implementation support. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working on enterprise-scale cloud/web applications in Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, document, and translate business requirements into technical specifications while maintaining traceability matrices.
• Define system, software, workflow, and interface requirements based on business and customer needs.
• Facilitate requirement gathering sessions, design workshops, planning meetings, and cross-functional discussions with internal teams and external vendors.
• Estimate project effort, required skill sets, timelines, and analysis activities.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and eliminate project roadblocks.
• Support Agile development teams by ensuring adherence to Scrum ceremonies and daily Agile practices.
• Manage and prioritize JIRA stories, tasks, defects, and application portfolio work items.
• Promote continuous integration and process improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery efficiency.
• Identify, assess, and communicate project risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
• Participate in customer meetings and serve as the primary escalation point for project-related issues.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce standards for documenting business requirements, workflows, use cases, and functional specifications.
• Recommend process improvements that enhance productivity, quality, and overall team performance.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience gathering and translating business requirements into technical documentation.
• 5+ years of Business Analysis experience supporting large-scale enterprise technology projects.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum development teams.
• 5+ years supporting Cloud, Web, or SaaS application development projects.
• Experience working with JIRA for backlog and project management.
• Experience with AI/LLM productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Claude, or similar is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project is a plus.
• Big Data and API integration experience is preferred.
• Automotive or OEM industry experience is highly preferred.

• Knowledge of AI-assisted business analysis tools and workflow automation platforms.
