Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, youâll lead the design, optimization, and validation of advanced mobile mechanical systems that power drilling, completions, well intervention, and field operations. This role blends hands-on engineering with creative problem-solvingâperfect for an engineer who thrives on turning complex challenges into reliable, high-performance solutions.
Location: Remote within the Midwest (MN, WI, IL, IA, MO, KS, TX, OK, AR, LA, ) Travel: ~10% annually to customer sites and fabrication facilities Industry: Industrial, Petrochemical, and Heavy Equipment Systems
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Develop:Â Engineer mobile mechanical systems for oil and gas applicationsâhydraulic equipment, mobile lifting systems, and field-service machinery.
- Optimize Performance:Â Enhance reliability and efficiency for high-pressure, high-load, and high-cycle environments.
- Model and Draw:Â Create detailed CAD models and drawings using Inventor (preferred), Pro-E, or SolidWorks.
- Prototype and Validate:Â Test and refine equipment to meet API, ASME, and internal quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and Improve:Â Diagnose field issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement in system performance.
- Collaborate and Lead:Â Work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and field teams to deliver robust, field-ready solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Mechanical Engineering (Masterâs preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for oil & gas or heavy industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Inventor, Pro-E, SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, power units, and mechanical assemblies.
- Proven ability to manage projects from concept through deployment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
