Vermilion Reporting Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Vermilion Reporting Developer with strong hands-on expertise in the Vermilion Reporting Suite (VRS), SQL, and investment reporting solutions within the financial-services or asset-management domain.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience configuring and customizing VRS, developing investment reports, integrating financial data sources, and automating reporting workflows. This position is specifically focused on Vermilion reporting development and platform expertise, rather than a general Business Intelligence (BI) or dashboard development role.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and customize the Vermilion Reporting Suite (VRS) to meet client-specific investment reporting requirements.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain reports, templates, and reporting components within the Vermilion platform.
• Design and manage data interfaces between VRS and external systems, including SQL Server, Oracle, Markit EDM, Aladdin, and other enterprise platforms.
• Work with APIs and structured data formats such as XML and JSON to support data exchange and system integrations.
• Develop, test, and maintain automated reporting workflows, scheduled jobs, and batch-processing routines.
• Create high-quality, client-branded reports and templates in formats such as PDF, Microsoft Office, and HTML.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, system testing, and troubleshooting to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency.
• Analyze and resolve issues related to report generation, data mapping, SQL queries, database performance, and reporting workflows.
• Collaborate with investment operations, client reporting teams, business stakeholders, and technical teams to translate reporting requirements into effective solutions.
• Support reporting processes across asset classes, including fixed income, equities, and derivatives.
• Maintain reporting quality, platform reliability, and compliance with client-specific reporting standards.

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in enterprise software implementation, development, or support, preferably within financial services or asset management.
• Strong hands-on experience with the Vermilion Reporting Suite (VRS) and its reporting capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of Vermilion modules, report design, platform configuration, and relevant APIs.
• Strong SQL skills, including Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle.
• Experience with ETL processes, data mapping, data validation, and database debugging.
• Experience integrating reporting platforms with external systems and financial data sources.
• Understanding of investment performance measurement, portfolio data, and client reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of fixed income, equities, derivatives, and other investment products.
• Experience troubleshooting reporting discrepancies and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, project coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial data platforms such as Markit EDM and Aladdin.
• Familiarity with API integrations and data exchange using XML and JSON.
• Exposure to Power BI is an added advantage but is not the primary focus of this role.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale investment reporting implementations and ongoing platform enhancements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Vermilion Reporting Developer with deep VRS platform knowledge, strong SQL expertise, and experience delivering investment reporting solutions in financial services.

This is not a general BI Developer position. Candidates should have direct Vermilion Reporting Suite development experience, including report configuration, report design, data integration, and troubleshooting.
