Material Planner
Work Schedule: Friday to Sunday, 5am-5:30pm (Work 36 hrs, get paid 40)
Starting pay: $27.04 hr

Position Summary: As a Material Planner at New Flyer, you will play a vital role in enhancing the efficiency of our materials department. This position involves coordinating material planning activities to ensure that materials are available for production, reducing excess inventory, and driving continuous improvement within the team.
This position is located in Shepherdsville, KY and does not provide relocation services.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Coordination for processing materials to point of use (POU) location by requirement date.
- Responsible for maintaining accuracy of inventory in your designated area and accuracy of reject requirements.
- Responsible for materials requirements planning (MRP); work with MRP messages and monitor daily order action summary (OAS).
- Drive continuous improvement and assist with the development, communication and deployment of policies, guidelines and tools to ensure success in all processes.
- Monitor, measure and meet all materials measurements.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal customers by working with other key areas to ensure daily completion of vital tasks.
- Assist manufacturing leadership on day-to-day tasks within designated area.
- Maintain a safe work environment; adhere to all safety policies, procedures and processes.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Proven experience in materials planning or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze data, create reports, and use advanced functions effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with ISO procedures and continuous improvement methodologies.
- A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
