Job Description

Senior AWS Cloud Administrator (GovCloud & Kubernetes)

Location: Washington, DC area | Full-time onsite

Duration: Through December 2026, with the possibility of extension contract on W2

Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required

Client is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Administrator to design, deploy, and operate secure cloud infrastructure. This role supports containerized workloads, platform automation, and emerging AI/ML capabilities in an environment with federal security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS GovCloud infrastructure.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Amazon EKS and Kubernetes.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform and automate delivery through GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support cloud infrastructure for emerging AI/ML capabilities and other cloud-native solutions.
  • Automate operational tasks, troubleshoot platform issues, and improve system reliability.
  • Help ensure systems meet applicable NIST 800-53 and FISMA requirements.
  • Contribute to cloud architecture and platform strategy while working with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Hands-on experience administering AWS infrastructure and supporting production cloud workloads.
  • Experience deploying or operating Amazon EKS and Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience using Terraform for infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments.
  • Ability to automate administrative tasks, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and support secure, reliable operations.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in the Washington, DC area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS GovCloud experience.
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-53 controls and FISMA compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with AI/ML infrastructure or services.
  • GitLab and Jira experience.
  • AWS Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer certification.
  • Experience in financial services or federal government environments.
