Analyst / Associate - Opportunistic Credit

Location: New York, NY

About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading global alternative investment manager with a well-established credit platform and a long track record of investing across complex and opportunistic situations. The team is seeking to add an Analyst and/or Associate to support the sourcing, underwriting, execution, and portfolio management of opportunistic credit investments.

This is an attractive opportunity to join a lean, highly active investing team focused on generating value through fundamental credit analysis, complex structuring, and event-driven investment opportunities across public and private markets.


Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and execute opportunistic credit investments across a variety of sectors and structures.
  • Perform detailed fundamental credit analysis, industry research, and financial modeling.
  • Analyze capital structures and assess risk/reward dynamics across stressed, distressed, special situations, and structured credit opportunities.
  • Participate in all aspects of transaction execution, including due diligence, structuring, documentation review, and investment committee materials.
  • Monitor existing portfolio investments and prepare ongoing portfolio updates.
  • Work closely with senior investment professionals on sourcing, underwriting, and portfolio management initiatives.
  • Develop investment theses and present recommendations to the broader investment team.

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in investment banking (preferably Restructuring, Leveraged Finance, or M&A), private credit, special situations, or a related investing role.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
  • Demonstrated interest in credit investing and complex situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
