Job Description

Join Macquarie Asset Management's Credit and Insurance business in a stage of growth, working alongside experienced legal, product and investment teams on private credit strategies and investment platforms across global markets. This is an opportunity to build on your alternative funds expertise in a high-performing, international platform, gaining exposure to fund formation, fundraising activity, separate managed accounts and new product initiatives while developing your practice in a supportive and commercially focused team.

We are a global financial services group operating in 30 markets with 57 years of unbroken profitability. At Macquarie, you're empowered to shape a career that is fulfilling and creates value. You will bring your insights and expertise to the task at hand and feel supported as you make your own kind of impact for a better future.

What role will you play?

Drawing on your alternative funds expertise, you will support the legal aspects of private credit fund formation, fundraising activity and client platforms across infrastructure credit, direct lending, collateralised loan obligations and other long-term income strategies. Working closely with product specialists and portfolio teams, the role will involve helping to structure funds and separately managed accounts, with a primary focus on European fundraising for a global investor base. There will also be opportunities to support high net worth and more retail-focused vehicles, as well as contribute to the continued growth of Macquarie Asset Management's Credit and Insurance platform. As part of a dedicated group of private funds lawyers, you will collaborate with colleagues across Credit and Insurance, legal, governance and investment teams.

What you offer

  • 2-5 years of experience in alternative funds, ideally gained through private fund launches in EMEA, with exposure to credit funds and separately managed accounts being helpful rather than essential
  • A strong foundation in European asset management regulation, together with the curiosity and judgement to apply technical knowledge in a commercial, solutions-focused way
  • Exposure to cross-border fund structures, with a clear interest in developing further expertise in this area
  • Established knowledge in European private funds law, from either private practice or an in-house environment, with the ability to build strong working relationships across legal and business teams
  • Confidence working with external counsel and internal stakeholders, balancing attention to detail with a practical approach to delivery
  • An appetite to learn, grow and contribute to a developing Credit business, supporting new initiatives and building expertise across private credit and alternative investment products
We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.

What we offer

At Macquarie, you're empowered to shape a career that's rewarding in all the ways that matter most to you. Macquarie employees can access a wide range of benefits which, depending on eligibility criteria, include:
  • 1 wellbeing leave day per year and a minimum of 25 days of annual leave.
  • 26 weeks' paid parental leave for primary caregivers along with 12 days of paid transition leave upon return to work and 6 weeks' paid leave for secondary caregivers
  • Paid fertility leave for those undergoing or supporting fertility treatment
  • 2 days of paid volunteer leave and donation matching
  • Access to a wide range of salary sacrificing options
  • Benefits and initiatives to support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing including, comprehensive medical and life insurance cover
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program, a robust behavioural health network with counselling and coaching services
  • Access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities, including reimbursement for professional membership or subscription
  • Access to company funded emergency and backup dependent care services
  • Recognition and service awards
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements, dependent on role
  • Reimbursement for work from home equipment
