Michael Baker International’s Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators and safety experts. What We're Looking For:

Michael Baker is seeking a Construction Field Engineer to join the Construction Services team in Baltimore!  This position plays a critical role in the successful delivery of aviation, and other airport infrastructure projects – runways, taxiways, and terminal projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in civil engineering, experience working in the field during construction, and the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, designers, clients, and project teams.

What You'll Do:

• Provide engineering support during construction of civil infrastructure projects with a focus on heavy civil construction – earthwork, pavement, concrete, etc.
• Perform field observations and inspections to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and project requirements.
• Monitor project schedules, quantities, and construction progress.
• Support materials testing and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, field records, photographs, and project documentation.
• Participate in project meetings, safety briefings, and coordination sessions.
• Perform within a team setting and support project managers and senior engineers in resolving technical and construction-related challenges.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree in Engineering (or related construction field) required.
• 0-4 years of experience supporting civil, transportation, utility, or other infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of construction plans, specifications, engineering drawings, and contract documents (RFIs, submittals, etc.)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position $74,840 - $108,400 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
