ServiceNow SPM Developer (Strategic Portfolio Management)

Location - 3 days a week in office in Eden Prairie, MN or Minnetonka, MN.
Candidate Pay rate - $Negotiable

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow SPM Developer with extensive experience

implementing and supporting Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) solutions and a strong

foundation in the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for

designing, configuring, developing, and enhancing SPM capabilities while leveraging AI

powered tools and platform innovations to improve delivery efficiency and business

outcomes.

This role requires deep expertise in ServiceNow SPM modules, platform development,

integrations, automation, reporting, and modern AI-assisted development practices.

Key Responsibilities

ServiceNow SPM Development

• Configure and customize ServiceNow SPM modules, including: 

o Demand Management

o Project Portfolio Management (PPM)

o Project Management

o Program Management

o Agile Development

o Resource Management

o Financial Planning

o Portfolio Management

o Strategic Planning Workspace

o Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)

o Investment Funding

• Develop and maintain: 

o Intake workflows

o Demand assessment processes

o Project and program templates

o Resource allocation and forecasting models

o Financial tracking solutions

o Portfolio health dashboards

• Configure roadmap planning, portfolio hierarchies, funding models, and strategic

objectives.

• Support business stakeholders with solution enhancements, troubleshooting, and

optimisation initiatives.

ServiceNow Platform Development

• Develop custom solutions using: 

o Business Rules

o Script Includes

o Client Scripts

o UI Policies

o Data Policies

o ACLs

o Scheduled Jobs

o Flow Designer

o IntegrationHub

• Build and support: 

o Workspaces

o UI Builder Pages

o Service Portal Components

o Custom Applications

• Develop scalable and maintainable solutions following ServiceNow best practices.

• Participate in platform upgrades and instance health improvement initiatives.

AI and Innovation Responsibilities

• Leverage ServiceNow AI capabilities including: 

o Now Assist

o Generative AI

o AI Search

o Predictive Intelligence

o Virtual Agent

• Utilize AI-assisted development to accelerate: 

o Requirement analysis

o Story creation

o Code generation

o Unit testing

o Documentation

• Identify opportunities to automate manual portfolio and project management

activities using AI-driven solutions.

• Support implementation of AI-powered project summarization, risk identification,

forecasting, and recommendation engines.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 4+ years of ServiceNow development experience.

• 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing ServiceNow SPM solutions.

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

• Experience with enterprise workflow automation and integrations.
