Job Description

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the 3rd shift, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our residents throughout the night. You will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, ensuring the safety and comfort of our residents, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment in our healthcare facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitoring and documenting residents' vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
  • Providing companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive living environment.
  • Helping residents with mobility, including transfers, ambulation, and using assistive devices.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in resident rooms and common areas.
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to the care planning process.
  • Responding to resident calls and inquiries promptly and politely.
  • Following facility policies and procedures while adapting to any changes in resident care plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To be considered for the role of CNA on the 3rd shift, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant program and possession of a current CNA certification.
  • At least six months of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with residents and families.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare practices.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift and move residents, as well as stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Candidates should be capable of lifting over 35 pounds with assistance and have the endurance to work overnight shifts.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The working environment is typically within a long-term care facility with a moderate noise level. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed is required.
