Prototype Toolmaker

We are looking for an experienced Toolmaker for prototype tooling engagement. For each part, you will be responsible for:

Tool DFM Review:

• Assess part geometry for moldability, draft, undercuts, shut-offs, and insert fixturing.
• Provide written DFM feedback with clear recommendations to improve part quality and tool life.

Tool Proposal

• Define optimized tool concept for prototype-quality parts
• Specify mold configuration (Single Cavity), material (Aluminum / P20 Pre-hardened Steel)
• Define split-line strategy, gating (type, no. & location), ejection concept, cooling layout, and insert loading/fixturing method.

Injection System Proposal

• Recommend machine specs: Tonnage, Shot Size, Platen Dimensions
• Specify auxiliary equipment: Hot Runner, Temperature Controllers, Insert Pre-heat, etc.
• Confirm machine availability & capability (if molding in-house)

Moldflow Analysis:

• Run full Moldflow / Moldex3D / Sigmasoft simulation
• Cover: Filling, Weld-line & Air-trap mapping, Packing, Cooling, Warpage Prediction
• Deliver fiber-orientation tensor dataset for FEA integration

Tool Design & Manufacturing:

• Complete detailed tool design (3D CAD + 2D Drawings)
• Manufacture tool and perform internal trials before shipping samples

Part Quality Convergence

• Deliver sample parts across 3 trial stages (T0, T1, T2) with defined achievement criteria at each stage.
