Position Overview

We are looking for a strong Golang Developer to join a newly formed engineering team supporting Event Horizon, Walmart’s enterprise messaging platform. The platform powers critical promotions and customer engagement capabilities across Walmart’s digital ecosystem and handles high-volume production workloads.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong hands-on Golang and application development experience who has worked with distributed systems, microservices, messaging platforms, and cloud technologies.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on Golang / Go development experience
• Strong Application Development background
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience building backend services and microservices
• Experience with distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs
• Experience with cloud platforms — Google Cloud Platform preferred, AWS/Azure also considered
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang and Java
• Build and enhance components of Walmart’s Event Horizon messaging platform
• Develop highly available and fault-tolerant distributed systems
• Build APIs, microservices, and asynchronoevent-driven solutions
• Work with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering teams
• Improve platform performance, scalability, reliability, and observability
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis
• Contribute to CI/CD, automation, and operational excellence
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical design decisions
