Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is immediately seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Engineer in support of our enterprise telecommunications and mass media client based in Greenwood Village, CO.

Summary:
We're seeking an AWS Platform Engineer to support a large-scale cloud migration and modernization initiative involving mission-critical messaging platforms, automation tooling, and AWS infrastructure. This role will support either cloud infrastructure deployment and CI/CD validation or backend tooling modernization, working within an established Terraform and GitLab CI/CD framework.

Responsibilities include validating and deploying infrastructure through automated pipelines, onboarding AWS resources into existing deployment patterns, troubleshooting Terraform and CI/CD issues, supporting third-party automation solutions, and ensuring adherence to engineering and security standards. Candidates may also assist with modernizing internal operational tools by migrating legacy automation workflows to Python-based solutions integrated with AWS services and REST APIs.

All infrastructure is managed through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and deployed exclusively through automated pipelines. The role requires working within an AI-assisted codebase, reviewing and refining generated code, following documented architecture standards, maintaining technical documentation, and collaborating closely with engineers and stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions. Success is measured by delivering scalable, supportable, fully automated solutions with no manual infrastructure changes and comprehensive operational documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:
* 3+ years of hands-on AWS infrastructure engineering experience in enterprise production environments
* Strong Terraform expertise with Infrastructure as Code best practices
* Experience with GitLab CI/CD or comparable CI/CD platforms, including pipeline design, troubleshooting, and multi-environment deployments
* Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and application development; ability to read and modernize Bash and Perl code is preferred
* Experience with AWS services such as EKS, EC2, Auto Scaling, IAM, Route 53, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, and related cloud technologies
* Experience deploying and supporting cloud-native applications and infrastructure through automated pipelines
* Ability to work from existing specifications, architecture standards, and established codebases with minimal oversight
* Experience integrating applications with REST APIs and backend services
* Knowledge of Ansible, infrastructure automation, and production release processes preferred
* Understanding of security-focused development practices, including SAST, secrets management, and change governance
* Experience working in AI-assisted development environments with the ability to validate and improve generated code
* Strong troubleshooting, documentation, collaboration, and communication skills
* Ability to work onsite and effectively partner with engineering teams and stakeholders
* Experience with directory services, messaging platforms, large-scale migrations, or operational tooling modernization is a plus
