Shadowgate Partners is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer for our Client.
Key Responsibilities • Responsible for building and maintaining the cloud native system.
- Readily adapt to changing requirements; keep up-to-date on emerging technologies; and be ready to help implement these new products and technologies to enhance the system. Technical Requirements • Experience with Linux (Red Hat and CentOS desired)
- Enterprise Service – Active Directory, LDAP, DNS
- System security, hardening, and accreditation (e.g. DCID 6/3, ICD-503)
- Automated OS and cloud infrastructure installation
- Cloud virtualization
- Configuration and use of – nat, dns, ldap, nis, nfs, iptables, free ipa
- System performance monitoring, and tuning
- Performing, monitoring, and designing system backup plans
- Create, debug, and enhance scripts (e.g. bash, csh, Perl, ruby, python, expect)
- Automate repetitive tasks
- Basic knowledge of switching, routing, IP addressing, and networks
- Experience with multicast
- Train others on system maintenance duties
- Source code control systems, both use and administration (cvs, subversion, git)
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Gluster, Ceph Education A Bachelor’s degree in computer related discipline is desired but not mandatory. Candidate may substitute relevant work experience. Salary Range
Our Client offers a strong total compensation package built around flexibility and long-term security. It contributes an amount equal to 25% of annual salary into an Individual Benefits Account (IBA), which employees can use to cover health, dental, and vision premiums, out-of-pocket medical costs, childcare, and PTO; any unused balance at year-end is paid out as income the following January. Full-time employees receive 8 weeks (320 hours) of all-inclusive paid time off, covering vacation, holidays, and sick leave, with no mandatory leave policy. An additional 25% of annual salary is contributed to employees' 401(k) retirement accounts, with immediate 100% vesting and no waiting period — meaning a $100,000 base salary translates to roughly $150,000 in total compensation. Beyond these core benefits, employees receive fully company-paid Basic Life, Short Term and Long Term Disability, Identity Theft Insurance, Secure Travel, and Health Advocate services, plus 50% coverage for Cancer Indemnity Insurance, along with optional coverage for Accident Protection, Legal Services, Supplemental Long Term Disability, Supplemental Voluntary Life, and Child Life Insurance. Employees also receive 100% reimbursement for tuition, books, and job-relevant certifications for Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD programs.
