The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Lead to drive the delivery of our sustainability strategy, working closely with the Chief Sustainability Officer to turn strategic ambitions into measurable business outcomes.
This is a hands-on role with broad responsibility across ESG strategy, carbon reduction, sustainability reporting, supplier engagement and governance. You will take ownership of key sustainability initiatives, ensuring commitments are translated into practical actions across the business and supported by robust data, evidence and reporting.
Operating as a dedicated sustainability specialist, you will work collaboratively with teams across the organisation, supporting customer requirements, external disclosures and sustainability commitments while helping embed responsible business practices into day-to-day operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong sustainability expertise with the ability to take ownership, influence stakeholders and deliver tangible progress.
Key Responsibilities
  • ESG Strategy & Reporting: Drive the delivery of the ESG strategy, overseeing sustainability reporting, disclosures and statutory and non-statutory publications.
  • Carbon Measurement & Reduction: Lead carbon footprint measurement, carbon accounting and emissions reduction programmes, supporting relevant initiatives and frameworks such as the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
  • Sustainability Certifications: Manage sustainability commitments and certification processes, including B Corp certification, ensuring actions and evidence are delivered effectively.
  • Business-Wide Implementation: Translate sustainability strategy into clearly owned actions, working with stakeholders across the business to track progress and deliver agreed objectives.
  • Supplier & Customer Sustainability: Develop and manage supplier sustainability programmes, supporting supplier and customer ESG assurance requirements.
  • Governance, Data & Assurance: Maintain robust sustainability governance, data quality, evidence and assurance processes to support credible reporting and demonstrate progress against commitments.
  • Customer Bids & Impact: Provide sustainability content and evidence for major customer bids, taking ownership of relevant client impact commitments and obligations through to execution.
About You
We are looking for someone who combines technical sustainability knowledge with a practical, delivery-focused approach.
You will ideally bring:
  • Experience in a sustainability, ESG or corporate responsibility role, with responsibility for delivering sustainability initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG reporting, disclosures and sustainability frameworks.
  • Experience measuring organisational carbon footprints, carbon accounting and emissions reduction planning.
  • Familiarity with initiatives such as SBTi and B Corp certification.
  • Experience working with suppliers and customers on ESG assurance, sustainability requirements and evidence gathering.
  • Strong data management, governance and reporting capabilities, with a focus on accuracy and accountability.
  • The ability to translate strategic objectives into clear actions and deliverables, taking ownership from planning through to completion.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work across teams and influence business priorities.
  • A proactive, organised approach, comfortable managing a broad sustainability remit with a high degree of autonomy.
Location & Eligibility
  • Location: Fully remote, but candidates must be based in the UK.
  • Visa sponsorship: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
  • Working pattern: Part-time, 3 days per week.
  • Salary: £48,000-£52,000
If you are passionate about turning sustainability commitments into meaningful action and want to take ownership of a broad ESG agenda, we would welcome a conversation.
