The Opportunity

An established engineering business is looking for a Field Service Engineer to support specialist military training systems at sites across the UK. This is a hands-on role combining electronic and electromechanical engineering with practical maintenance, troubleshooting and technical support. You will work at military training facilities, supporting users with system operation and ensuring equipment operates safely and reliably. The role also involves scheduled maintenance and callouts at other UK locations, with overnight stays required depending on location.
The Role

• Provide technical support for specialist military training systems at UK training facilities.
• Support users with the operation of training equipment.
• Monitor the safe operation of systems during training.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance and respond to callouts at other UK locations.
• Complete technical reports and associated paperwork.
• Follow established safety, quality and environmental procedures.

What We're Looking For

• A formal electrical or electronic qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
• An electronics-focused or electromechanical engineering background.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• The ability to produce technical reports and communicate effectively.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Existing Security Clearance or the ability to obtain clearance before starting.

Experience as a Gunner Mechanic, Electrical Mechanic or Gun Fitter would be advantageous.
Flexibility to travel extensively throughout the UK is essential.
