Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Middleware Administrator to administer, configure, patch, monitor, and support enterprise middleware platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, IBM HTTP Server, Linux, Java/J2EE environments, and middleware automation.

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining production stability, performance, availability, application deployments, infrastructure configuration, and troubleshooting across enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, patch, upgrade, and support middleware platforms including WebSphere Application Server (WAS), JBoss/JBoss EAP, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, and IBM HTTP Server (IHS).
  • Monitor middleware environments and ensure production stability, performance, scalability, and high availability.
  • Perform performance tuning and capacity management for enterprise applications.
  • Support application deployments using Ansible, XLR, Bitbucket, and other automation tools.
  • Design and maintain middleware infrastructure, topology, failover, clustering, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Troubleshoot application, middleware, Java/J2EE, and infrastructure-related issues.
  • Collaborate with application development, testing, infrastructure, and operations teams throughout the SDLC.
  • Execute production releases, application deployments, and regulatory change implementations.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, Jython, and Perl.
  • Support middleware configuration, maintenance, patching, and environment upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and integration issues involving HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and proxies.
  • Participate in incident management, problem management, and production support activities.
  • Maintain middleware documentation, operational procedures, and configuration standards.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience with WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
  • Strong experience with JBoss / JBoss EAP.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Tomcat.
  • Experience with Apache HTTP Server.
  • Experience with IBM HTTP Server (IHS).
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Strong Java/J2EE and container framework knowledge.
  • Experience with middleware administration, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Experience with Shell, Jython, Perl, and/or Python scripting.
  • Experience with Ansible and automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and proxies.
