Position Overview:

We are seeking a customer-focused Systems Administrator to support, maintain, and optimize our enterprise physical security, surveillance infrastructure, and supporting server environments. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration of access control platforms, video management systems (VMS), hyperconverged infrastructure, and enterprise databases while ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance across critical security operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Access Control & Surveillance Administration: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and hardware management for Honeywell Pro-Watch access control systems and Genetec Security Center video management platforms.
• Hyperconverged Infrastructure: Manage and deploy Nutanix Clusters, overseeing node health, storage pools, and virtualization layers for security platform workloads.
• Database & Application Optimization: Administer and maintain ChangeGear SQL databases and Microsoft SQL Server environments, performing backups, recovery tests, performance tuning, and health checks.
• Video & Surveillance Management: Serve as the technical SME for enterprise IP camera systems, NVRs/DVRs, video encoders, door controllers, badge management software, and SAN/NAS video storage arrays.
• Maintenance & Patching: Plan and execute regular operating system updates, application patching, firmware updates, and vulnerability remediation across physical security infrastructure.
• System Operations & Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain technical diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and disaster recovery/business continuity plans.
• On-Call & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Networking, Cybersecurity, Facilities, and Operations teams. Provide emergency response and on-call support for critical security outages.

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have Technical Skills

• Physical Security Systems: Expertise in Honeywell Pro-Watch, Genetec Security Center, IP camera integrations, door controllers, badge processing, and video storage platforms.
• Infrastructure & Compute: Nutanix Cluster Management & Deployment (Required) along with Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), and enterprise backup/recovery concepts.
• Database Management: Microsoft SQL Server administration, T-SQL troubleshooting, database indexing, and automated backup routines.
• Networking & Security Fundamentals: Proficiency in DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing, firewalls, Access Control Lists (ACLs), system hardening, and encryption standards.
• Automation & Scripting: Experience leveraging PowerShell or similar scripting tools for system monitoring, log analysis, and process automation.

Professional Experience & Background

• Experience: Minimum 8+ years in Information Technology supporting enterprise server environments, critical infrastructure, or operational technology (OT).
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Compliance & Screening: Ability to pass a NERC CIP Personnel Risk Assessment Background Check.

Additional Position Requirements

• Physical Capability: Ability to lift and transport server, network, and security hardware up to standard weight thresholds during deployment and maintenance.
• Travel & Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and be available to travel to local company facilities as required.
• Flexibility: Willingness to provide after-hours on-call rotation support and flexible availability for scheduled maintenance windows.
