Associate Director, Real Estate Fund Management - eFinancialCareers

Our client is a Global Investment Management platform that has over £5bn AUM. The role sits within the Fund Management team and combines hands-on fund modelling, portfolio reporting and broader fund management responsibilities for one the firms largest European joint ventures.

The role covers both the existing property portfolio and new acquisitions undertaken by the joint venture. The successful candidate will act as the primary day-to-day point of contact for the partner and must be able to convert complex modelling and portfolio data into clear, concise and commercially relevant conclusions.

Main responsibilities:

1. Support the Head of Investment Management in the day-to-day management of the joint venture portfolio.
2. Act as the primary day-to-day point of contact for the joint venture partner and coordinate responses across Fund Management, Asset Management and other internal teams.
3. Monitor portfolio performance and identify key risks, opportunities and trends through detailed, data-led analysis.
4. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the portfolio, including asset performance, ownership structures, business plans and investment strategy.
5. Recommend portfolio-level actions relating to strategy, capital allocation, equity deployment, acquisitions, disposals and performance optimisation.
6. Own the entire quarterly reporting process, including the timetable, coordination of inputs, detailed review, narrative development, quality control and final sign-off before submission to the joint venture partner.
7. Prepare board papers and portfolio updates for presentation to senior management.
8. Act as the principal owner and custodian of the fund model.

The ideal candidate will have:

1. A background in real estate private equity, fund management, portfolio management, investment management, corporate finance, transaction advisory or a comparable data-intensive investment environment.
2. Strong understanding of real estate investment, fund or portfolio management principles.
3. Demonstrable experience building, reviewing, auditing and troubleshooting complex financial models.
4. Experience producing or reviewing institutional-quality portfolio, investor or management reporting.
5. Ability to reconcile investment models to actual accounting information and identify the causes of numerical variances.
6. Confidence interacting with senior management, institutional investors, lenders and other external stakeholders.
7. Experience within logistics, industrial or broader commercial real estate, and experience of institutional joint venture structures, would be advantageous.
