Job Description
We are seeking a GIS Technical Specialist – Junior to support GIS data maintenance, mapping applications, dashboards, and operational GIS solutions. This role will work closely with business users to understand requirements, maintain GIS datasets, and develop mapping solutions that support daily operations and decision-making.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience with ArcGIS technologies, GIS data management, web mapping, cartography, and GIS application development. Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into GIS solutions are essential.
Responsibilities

Maintain and update GIS data, including geometry, events, and attribute information.
Perform routine QA/QC activities to ensure data accuracy and compliance with established standards.
Create and maintain maps, dashboards, web applications, and GIS tools.
Gather, document, and clarify business requirements from stakeholders.
Translate operational and business needs into GIS-based solutions.
Develop and maintain basic Arcade expressions for mapping and analysis.
Support ETL processes and data integration activities.
Participate in stakeholder meetings to understand workflows and operational requirements.
Troubleshoot GIS-related issues and provide end-user support.
Prepare technical documentation and status updates.
Collaborate effectively with team members in both remote and onsite environments.

Required Skills

4+ years of experience with ArcGIS Pro.
4+ years of experience with ArcGIS Online Administration, Web Mapping, and Cartography.
2+ years of experience with Survey123, Field Maps, and Experience Builder.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into GIS solutions.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

2+ years of experience with ArcGIS Enterprise Administration and Server Management.
2+ years of experience with Arcade Scripting.
2+ years of experience with Python Scripting.
Experience supporting GIS application development and automation initiatives.
