Job Description
Titel: Sr. Databricks Platform Engineer
Location: Seattle, Los Angeles, or New York (Hybrid)
Client: Capital Group
We are looking for an experienced Senior Databricks Platform Engineer to design, build, and enhance modern data platform capabilities and accelerate the journey from research to production.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and enhance platform capabilities within Databricks and related technologies
* Build reusable data products and self-service capabilities
* Design and maintain data pipelines and integration frameworks
* Improve data quality, reliability, lineage, and monitoring
* Partner with researchers to prototype solutions and establish scalable production patterns
* Reduce friction between research and engineering workflows
Mandatory Skills
* 12+ years of platform and data solutions experience
* Hands-on Databricks experience workspaces, notebooks, jobs, and platform capabilities
* Python & SQL
* Modern CI/CD & IaC Terraform strongly preferred
* Data governance & observability Unity Catalog, lineage, monitoring
* Orchestration Airflow
* AI fluency experience using AI agents, with Claude Code preferred, as a primary tool for designing, building, testing, and supporting solutions
