About Our Client

Our client is an award-winning, market-leading industrial producer supplying premium products to major UK retailers and food service networks. With a strong commitment to digital transformation and automation, they are continually improving their factory operations.

They are seeking a proactive Operations Technology Integration Lead to take the lead in designing and implementing shop-floor digital systems. The role offers a supportive, inclusive working environment with opportunities for professional growth and hands-on exposure to advanced industrial technology.

Role Purpose

Reporting directly to the Systems Programme Manager, you will take full operational ownership of the site-level technical applications workstream, acting as the recognised expert in factory-floor systems infrastructure.

You will manage the full project lifecycle, from scoping and technical design through to hands-on line-side configuration, vendor assurance and post-launch support. Working closely with colleagues across operations and technology, you will deliver integrated solutions that are reliable, practical and ready for use in live production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & System Architecture

  • Lead shop-floor technology projects, taking ownership of solution design, system configuration decisions and cross-system integration standards.
  • Coordinate technical support specialists assigned to deployment workstreams, plan their workloads and review the quality of their work.
  • Manage complex data flows and interface dependencies between shop-floor hardware, live data tracking systems and central ERP systems.
  • Work closely with Infrastructure and Business System Leads to manage cross-site integrations, maintaining project records and test evidence to auditable standards.

Line-Side Deployment & Vendor Auditing

  • Review and constructively challenge external software vendors' solution designs, ensuring delivery aligns with corporate project plans and deadlines.
  • Support new facility openings and factory extensions, overseeing line-side hardware readiness and equipment commissioning.
  • Provide hands-on support in live production environments, troubleshooting real-time system issues and delivering expert break/fix support when required.
  • Develop and deliver user guides, technical documentation and coaching plans to support effective system adoption across shift teams.

Regulatory & Environmental Compliance

  • Configure systems to accurately record and track industry-specific safety processes, including batch traceability, allergen monitoring and material control logs.
  • Follow workplace health and safety requirements, actively promoting hazard identification and accurate incident reporting.
  • Work in line with corporate environmental and sustainability frameworks, supporting production sites' efficiency and environmental targets.

What We Need From You (Key Criteria)

Essential Experience:

  • Industrial Software Competence: Proven experience configuring, testing and supporting manufacturing execution systems (MES), ERP systems or high-volume automated tracking tools.
  • On-the-Ground Implementations: A strong track record of delivering physical system rollouts in active production environments, from requirements gathering through to go-live and hypercare.
  • Change Leadership: Demonstrable experience coaching staff, resolving process bottlenecks and improving user adoption of systems.
  • Logistics & Mobility: Excellent communication and stakeholder negotiation skills, with a willingness to travel across a multi-site UK logistics network.

Desirable Experience:

  • A strong background in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or food manufacturing environments.
  • Practical understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) configurations, production routing and stock tracking logic.
  • Previous experience line-managing or mentoring technical support staff.
