Senior IT Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver large-scale, complex IT projects and strategic technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise IT project management, stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and organizational change management.

This role requires managing cross-functional teams, coordinating with business and technical stakeholders, and ensuring projects are completed within scope, schedule, and budget while meeting business objectives.

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite per week in Boston, MA. Candidates must be comfortable commuting to Boston and working onsite three days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of multiple large-scale IT projects, managing project scope, schedules, milestones, budgets, and resources.

• Develop and maintain project plans, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

• Coordinate with business units, technical teams, executive stakeholders, and external vendors to gather requirements and maintain project alignment.

• Lead cross-functional teams, establish accountability, manage competing priorities, and drive organizational change and technology adoption.

• Monitor project performance, track financials, prepare status reports, present updates to leadership, and manage post-implementation activities and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 8–10 years of progressive IT project management experience.

• Experience managing large, complex, enterprise-level IT projects.

• Experience working with Workday HR, Workday finance, Workday Implementation

• Experience delivering projects involving CRM, ERP, infrastructure, data integration, or cloud-based technologies.

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with business stakeholders, technical teams, and executive leadership.

• Demonstrated experience in organizational change management, technology implementation, adoption, and post-go-live stabilization.

• Strong knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid project management methodologies.

• Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, or Jira.

• Strong skills in risk management, resource planning, budgeting, stakeholder management, and project reporting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, Agile, PRINCE2, or other project management certifications.

• Experience managing enterprise-wide technology transformation initiatives.

• Ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams without direct authority.

• Experience working in large, matrixed organizations and dynamic project environments.
