Job Description

Role: Junior Mechanical Design Engineer


Type: Permanent, Full Time


Hours: Onsite – 37.5 hours per week


Salary: Dependant on Experience


Location: Woking




Are you an Mechanical Design Engineer? Do you have experience of working with sheet metal, fabrication, and weldments? Do you have strong knowledge of Inventor or similar? If so, our client, a growing manufacturing business based in Woking, is recruiting for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer.




Junior Mechanical Design Engineer – Key responsibilities:


  • Ensuring timely delivery of design project stages.
  • Producing concept models and drawings for customer approval and quotations using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Creating manufacturing drawings for various processes like welded fabrication and manual assembly.
  • Utilising CAD parametric functions for adaptable part and assembly designs.
  • Providing technical support, liaising with teams, and maintaining professional communication standards.





Junior Mechanical Design Engineer - Essential Skills & Experience:


  • 2 years’ of experience in mechanical/design engineering, with a proven track record of delivering projects from initial concept through to completion.
  • Holder of a relevant engineering degree or qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Inventor or similar.
  • Confident producing and reviewing technical drawings and mechanical assemblies
  • Working knowledge of production techniques including welding, fabrication, sheet metal and machined components.
