Job Title: Reading Intervention Unqualified Teacher
Location: Lamledge School, Shifnal, TF11 8SD
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: December 2026

About the Role
As our Reading Intervention Teacher, you will play a key role in identifying, supporting, and accelerating the progress of students who require additional literacy support. Working closely with teaching staff and school leaders, you will assess reading abilities, analyse student data and EHCP needs, and deliver engaging intervention programmes that help students develop confidence and achieve success.
You will also have the opportunity to teach small groups and deliver high-quality literacy and numeracy interventions while contributing to the wider educational and personal development of students.
What you will be doing
- Conduct baseline and ongoing reading assessments to identify student needs.
- Analyse reading data and EHCP information to plan targeted interventions.
- Deliver engaging and effective reading intervention programmes.
- Monitor, track, and evaluate individual and group progress.
- Prepare progress reports for parents, senior leaders, and governors.
- Support students to develop confidence, independence, and a love of reading.
- Deliver high-quality literacy and numeracy intervention sessions.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure students receive the support they need.
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment.

Lamledge School is an independent specialist school in Shropshire, supporting students aged 5–19 with SEMH and additional learning needs. We provide a nurturing, small-group environment where every student feels understood, supported, and challenged to reach their potential. At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer.
