Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

B-Stock's marketplace growth depends on a thriving buyer ecosystem at every level. This role owns the full buyer lifecycle — from acquiring and activating new buyers to growing them into Premier Buyers ($250K+/year) — through hands-on lifecycle execution, personalized marketing programs, and cross-functional partnership.

This is a builder and operator role. The person who takes this job will design and build B-Stock's buyer lifecycle architecture from the ground up — Braze canvases, segmentation frameworks, behavioral triggers, journey orchestration — and own the engagement and activation outcomes those programs drive. The personalization strategy and prioritization tradeoffs are set at the team level; this person owns making that strategy real through expert execution and continuous optimization.

This is also a cross-functional role. Success depends on close partnership with Product and Data teams to get the right signals into the right programs, and on building credibility with the Buyer Account Management team to ensure high-value buyers are prioritized and well-served.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lifecycle Architecture & Hands-On Execution

  • Design and build B-Stock's buyer lifecycle architecture in Braze — canvases, onboarding journeys, behavioral triggers, re-engagement flows, and retention programs across all buyer segments.
  • Own segmentation strategy and execution: define buyer cohorts by behavior, transaction history, lifecycle stage, and engagement score, and build the segmentation logic that powers personalized messaging at scale.
  • Orchestrate messaging across channels — email, in-app, push, and SMS — ensuring the right message reaches the right buyer at the right moment without creating fatigue.
  • Build and iterate on personalization frameworks: define which buyer signals drive message selection, test and refine scoring logic based on engagement and conversion data.
  • Build AI-powered workflows or automations — not just use AI tools — to improve execution speed, personalization, and campaign optimization.
  • Own deliverability and list hygiene — monitor sender reputation, manage list/channel health, and troubleshoot delivery issues across email and SMS.

Product & Data Partnership

  • Partner closely with Product and Data teams to define signal requirements and segmentation infrastructure, writing clear specs (event tracking needs, trigger logic) that engineering can build against.
  • Write clear requirements and journey specs that engineering and data teams can act on — bridging marketing strategy and technical implementation.
  • Lead experimentation across onboarding flows, messaging, and lifecycle touch points — owning test design, measurement framework, and scale/stop decisions.

Cross-Functional Execution

Strategy and prioritization tradeoffs are set at the manager level. This person's responsibility is to execute that strategy with precision, surface what's working and what isn't, and bring recommendations — not to own the strategic direction independently.

  • Partner with Buyer Relationship Managers to execute programs that support Key Buyer growth and retention.
  • Work closely with the BAM team to build and deliver marketing programs that support Premier Buyer engagement.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Customer Support, and Finance to deliver seamless buyer experiences.
  • Represent buyer engagement data and insights in cross-functional discussions — bringing the buyer's perspective into product and operational decisions.

Measurement & Insights

  • Own dashboards tracking the full buyer funnel: registration-to-bid conversion, activation rates, Key Buyer conversion, GMV contribution, and channel ROI.
  • Measure personalization impact: engagement lift, lifecycle progression, and reduction in buyer fatigue.
  • Surface insights, performance gaps, and optimization opportunities to the team on a regular cadence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • 7+ years of marketing experience, with substantial hands-on lifecycle marketing experience and ownership of marketing automation platforms — Braze strongly preferred;
    • Iterable, HubSpot, or Marketo also considered.
  • Proven ability to build lifecycle programs from scratch — not just operate or optimize existing ones.
  • Strong measurement rigor — comfortable designing experimentation frameworks, defining success metrics, and surfacing clear recommendations from ambiguous data.
  • AI-native execution — has personally built AI-powered automations or agentic workflows (not just used AI tools for content) to improve execution speed or operational efficiency.
  • Track record of partnering with Product, Engineering, and Analytics to ship lifecycle programs, comfortable aligning cross-functional teams around shared execution goals without formal authority.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a B2B marketplace, wholesale, or two-sided platform environment.
  • Familiarity with auction-based or reverse-logistics models.
  • Prior experience managing tiered customer programs — different lifecycle motions for different value segments simultaneously.
  • Experience building a personalization or next-best-action system from scratch, including data model, scoring logic, and feedback loop.
  • Familiarity with CDP or data pipeline tools (Segment, Snowflake, Amplitude, or similar).

The pay rate for this role will range between $130,000 to $175,000, per annum. We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as the applicant’s work experience, education and training, skills, market data, and internal equity.

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

  • Competitive compensation packages, including bonus and options
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits
  • Paid Time Off, telecommuting, and matching 401(K)
  • Support for continuing education
  • Team offsites, social events, and extracurricular activities are a staple
  • Snacks, drinks, and the occasional box of donuts

THE COMPANY

B-Stock is the world's largest B2B re-commerce platform, connecting sellers and buyers of returned, trade-in, and overstock inventory. Our customers range from today’s top brands and retailers that want best-in-class inventory resale management to tens of thousands of entrepreneurs looking to purchase valuable merchandise for their resale businesses.

While the amount of returned and overstock inventory continues to grow, there is also growing pressure on retailers and consumers to adopt a more circular economy and keep products in use as long as possible. Accordingly, the need for re-commerce solutions - to find products a second life - has never been greater! At B-Stock we’re proud to play a large part in powering resale, reuse, and the circular economy through our platform: annually we sell over 130 million items across all categories and conditions, equating to 400 million pounds of inventory.

We believe there is tremendous value in and demand for this inventory - no matter the category, condition, or location. With hundreds of thousands transactions completed annually, B-Stock gives buyers a simple and direct way to buy valuable products directly from retailers and offers sellers a technology-driven replacement for traditional resale methods, while boosting operational efficiency, recovery rates, and cycle time.

Led by eBay veterans and backed by top investors including Spectrum Equity, True Ventures, and Susquehanna Growth Equity, B-Stock shows no signs of slowing down. Our core values have shaped the company we are today and will continue to drive our success for many years to come.

OUR VALUES

Make Each Dollar Count
Whether it’s the recovery amount or a buyer’s budget, money matters to all of our clients. And because each dollar matters to them, it matters to us.

Take Our Work Seriously, Not Ourselves
Everything at B-Stock continues to grow - everything but our egos, that is. We’re not afraid to let loose and laugh (often at ourselves).

Do The Hard Things Today That Will Pay Off Tomorrow
We’re willing to sacrifice and endure, fail and adapt to reach our long-term goals.

Use Trust As The Best Measure Of Success
The trust we earn along the way is more valuable than money. Without trust from both our buyers and sellers, our business won’t succeed.

Find Strength In Numbers
Use our passion for data to provide value to our customers, improve ourselves, and develop new ways to delight our buyers and sellers.

No applicant will face discrimination/harassment based on race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, age, gender, marital domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, or veteran status. Above and beyond discrimination/harassment based on “protected categories,” B-Stock also strives to prevent other, subtler forms of inappropriate behavior (e.g., stereotyping) from ever gaining a foothold in our office. Whether blatant or hidden, barriers to success have no place at B-Stock.
