About the Role
Join an applied AI research team creating expert-driven datasets for advanced AI models. In this legal-focused role, you will own client relationships and project delivery, bringing rigorous legal reasoning to work that supports the development of AI systems.
What You'll Do
Work with leading AI research teams to develop high-quality datasets based on legal expertise and reasoning.
Manage expert teams and guide projects from initial planning through delivery.
Collaborate with internal teams on applied AI research initiatives.
Lead cross-functional projects and support operational priorities as an early team member.
What We're Looking For
At least 3 years of substantive legal experience in practice, in-house, government or regulatory work, legal consulting, or a legal technology company.
A JD or equivalent legal qualification, with experience drafting, negotiating, litigating, or providing legal advice.
Strong legal research and reasoning skills, with sound judgment about the quality and rigor of analysis.
Excellent communication and client management skills, with the ability to own projects end to end.
Experience in a demanding environment such as a leading professional services firm, finance, or a fast-paced startup is valuable.
An undergraduate degree from a university in the United States, Canada, or Europe.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $150,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
Location
On-site in San Francisco, California. The role includes a five-day weekday schedule and some Sunday availability, in person or remotely.
